The AC Gilbert company had multiple factories that they needed to transport materials between. AC Gilbert had tractor trailer trucks that they used to move materials between Branford and New Haven. The trucks featured Gilbert Hall of Science graphics with associated AC Gilbert products on the sides of the trailers; there were 4 different sides of trailer art. These TCA exclusive custom run American Flyer S Gauge TOFC’s feature the graphics from the real-life trailer trucks. The New Haven road name on the flat car pays homage to ACG’s factory. Car #1916 features “Erector” on the nose of the trailers with Erector and American Flyer Trains graphics on the sides. Car #1917 features “Polar Cub” on the nose of the trailers with Polar Cub and Gilbert appliances graphics on the sides.
